Description

After learning the fundamentals of biological chemistry in the first three years, these lectures allow students to explore a broad range of topics at the cutting edge of chemistry research. Students take six courses in semester 1, and three courses in semester 2, allowing them to develop their own interests and specialities[IC8].Typical courses in semester one include: Supramolecular Chemistry 1; Metals in Medicine; Stereoselective Synthesis; Mechanism and Reactivity in Organic Chemistry; Quantum Chemistry; Advanced Spectroscopy and Theory; Supramolecular Chemistry 2; Heterogeneous Catalysis; Medicinal Chemistry; Metals in Organic Synthesis; Chemistry in Space; and Photochemistry and Molecular Photonics.Typical courses in semester two include: Biomimetic Nanoparticle Synthesis; Chemistry of High-Energy Materials; Enzyme Catalysis; Organic Chemistry of the Main Group Elements; Biophysical Chemistry; and Nanochemistry.
